I am a dog groomer and have recently changed from working in my shop to working from home .
reson being i felt i was having no time to spend with my son because i was working all hours.

my problem is now keeping my clients, i have text them all tell telling them i have relocated but they dont seem to be replying,
theirs two shops opened local to me,

Advertise on all of the local boards in shops
Leaflet the local area
local Paper advert
Door knock or even
Hold a free event grooming all the dogs for a day at the local park

Hope these give you a good start

One way that you can do this is to email or text all your clients with a discount code to get a % off their next visit, then when they return give them some rewards cards with their name on them to hand out & when they have refereed 3,4,5 or 6 new customer to your business they get a free session for their dog.

Hope this help

Some excellent ideas. I'm a big fan of the reward card/ discount code and either free or ridiculously reduced grooming in the park.

You could host a prettiest pooch competition(lol, you could even charge an entrance fee, which would mean your marketing is paying for itself)

I use www.vistaprint.com for leaflets, postcards and business cards - they produce very professional advertising material and are competitively priced.

Some tips short but sweet

- call your clients, their dogs are very personal to them it will not hurt to maintain a personal relationship
- offer loyalty rewards
- you seem down about having to move to working at home. Don't let this reflect in your conversations. You are not desperate.
- Advertise for free on places like gumtree.
- Attend FREE networking events, I know successful dog groomers/ walkers that do this. It's a great market clearly they are all busy professionals who need and can afford your services.
- get free editorial in local papers etc.
- check out women’s business forums for support and advice.
- go to you local chamber of commerce for business support, advice, free editorial, networking and more.
