Some of you may know me as Streetslocal
I have set up a forum aimed at parents of children with disabilities and special needs,the forum is non profit and one i set up because i too have a child with a disability.
Forum stats are as follows:
Current stats over the past 3 months average off about 3,500 unique visitors a month and have on average 33 thousand page views
Im looking to sell the advertising slots on the forum as of Febuary to companies dedicated to the market of special needs toys and sensory items and wheelchairs etc.
The reason i want to sell some slots is to pay for the hosting and the money spent on it.
In the meantime i was thinking what can i do with this space to make it work and ensure members are adapted to the banner postions.
So i thought of a little idea.
I basically had the following idea:
Offer the banner slots to business owners for a month in exchange for either prizes or vouchers to the value of say £25 for a months worth of banner adverts displaying on the footer area of the site and also displaying on every 5 posts.
These prizes or vouchers would go to members of the forum to spend with the company or simply recieve the gift in which the company would offer as the monthly prize for that month.
A thread would also be made a sticky detailing the prize and who it was donated by and a link to that website.
It would also go on our newsletter.
I was thinking to determine the winner of that prize we could do it in a few ways:
1)Member with most posts wins
2)Members with most thanks wins
Or possibly my favourite would be:
Set a question on a new thread and detail the prize and also who it was donated by and the member would then answer the question on the thread and at the end of the month we could draw a member at random or we could put it to user vote?
Would this sort of promotion intrest anybody on here?
Businesses who target familes or children in general could gain from this.
So maybe toys,household goods etc?
