TOPIC: Converting visits into sales
#13341
Converting visits into sales 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi there

I'm using a variety of marketing methods , Google & facebook PPC, press releases, mass emails etc but the visits to the website hardly ever convert into sales. (Conversion rate is <1%)

I've come to the conclusion that theres something wrong with either the copy or the site itself.

If I post a couple of links to destination pages would someone be able to offer me advise on how I can improve my sales?

Many thanks in advance

Thanks Dave

These are the two main destination pages that my marketing directs people to.

Natal Charts

Transit Charts

Any advice on how I can improve either these pages or any element of the site would be greatly appreciated.

Best wishes

Ouch - I am sorry to come across as blunt but you need a complete overhaul.

Relatively good from an SEO point of view (the basics) but in terms of copy it really is not compelling in fact it goes on a bit and made me want to click pretty much in the first 30 seconds.

It goes on a lot and does not really shout out what the benefits are. The call to action is very weak if any and the colouring is very off putting.

This is just my opinion. It may be worth waiting for other peoples opinions as well.

Hope it helps and I do apologise if it sounds too harsh.

Regards

Thanks Dave

Blunt is fine, I really appreciate you taking the time and trouble to look. I know the site is my main issue and one that I need to resolve quickly - although the problem is maybe slightly bigger than I anticipated. (It explains the lack of sales though!) Looks like I'll have to start overhauling asap!

I'll have a go at cutting back the text and sharpening the call to action tomorrow.

I have another (totally different) template I can use. Can I ask, from a marketing is neutral advisable?

If anyone else has any comments feel free to add them, as you've probably guessed, I'm new to all this and learning as I go.

Many thanks

I've had a go at overhauling one of those pages, Dave. The copy has been drastically reduced and I've tried to add a bit of colour.

If you have time, can you see if the new and improved version ticks all the marketing boxes now.

The old page

The New page

Many thanks

OK fast thoughts.

Firstly Personal Transit Reports - What are they in simple terms?

I am a consumer and the first few sentences are not really that compelling. What is it going to do for me? What are the benefits?
How much is it? Is there a special offer?

The call to action is still very weak and to be honest it is still quite bland and all blue is bad on the eyes.

I think some sharp images and a break down in the text i.e more spacing between headers and the text that is written would be better.

Also to finish off for SEO purposes it may be worth hyper linking out to other pages in the site.

I hope this helps

Thanks Dave, its very much appreciated.

I think I've finally nailed the call to action! See what you think.

Revised call to action

I've added some black text - maybe it all needs to be black, I'm not sure and revised the wording slightly.

Links to other pages I haven't put in yet as I'm a bit concerned about people wandering off elsewhere on the site and forgetting to place an order. It's imperative that I get people buying, that has to be the number 1 priority at the minute.

As for more images, I might see if I can get one long banner made to replace the small order chart icon on the right hand side.
