TOPIC: Bing Pay Per Click

Has anyone started using Bing Pay Per Click and what are your thoughts so far? I have tried it out and it seems as though so few people presently use bing that it doesn't get much traffic via PPC.

Microsoft has always had the lowest traffic levels of the big 3 and i dont expect that to change anytime soon.

I have managed several PPC camapigns on Microsoft in its various guises and the traffic generally was around 2% of what it was on Adwords.

Plus in the organic search i find you get no traffic. Im a google man myself.

Another thing is i have spoke to yahoo a few times and they have said they are bigger than google this did make me laugh (but i might be wrong) i think this was their sales pitch.

I do think if you work on google you cannot go wrong as the other search engines will follow.

Personally i think PPC just runs a bill up as you get competition clicking on your ads and people just browsing the internet with no intension of paying for a service or product.

I have found facebook a very good site to get sales here is my facebook group here www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=63985577223&ref=ts

Another thing is to offer something free on your site then build an email list and send them a newsletter once every month.

Hope this helps

I also am finding that Bing is a waste of time at the moment and it just is not getting results. Maybe one for the future but for sure not yet.

I dont know how anyone can say a lead source is a waste of time, yes the traffic volumes are much lower than Google but a lead or sale is good no matter where its from. With PPC the amount of leads/sales you will get from Bing are miniscule compared to Google but even if you only spend £5 and get a £50 sale from it then surely it is worth it. Also the CTR percentage from Bing is half as much again as it is with Google, 0.55% compared to 1.12% as an overall average.

Also with the deal that was struck yesterday between Bing and Yahoo the traffic levels are only going to get higher and may actually provide a bit of competition to Google especially in the USA where they are more popular.

Its getting a huge amount of coverage at the moment

I saw a ratings schedule for it that was graded on appearance, results, speed etc and Bing came out on top due to the aesthethics I think.

It produces more results for iphone than Google does but less on something else. I just cant remember where I saw it. i think it was in the Sun yesterday.

Anyways I am quite liking the design of Bing but much prefer Google to search at the moment.

Who knows....

Regards

Dave
